JOB PURPOSE: 

To lead and oversee the maintenance operations of the Rolling Stock and Depot Equipment team, ensuring efficient coordination, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to safety protocols. This role involves managing a team of maintainers and technicians, monitoring their activities, providing support for goal achievement, and upholding safety standards within the team's operations.


Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 

Oversee team coordination, including prioritization, resource optimization, conflict resolution, and training.

Facilitate information flow and communication within the team, fostering relationships, providing context for decisions, and ensuring understanding.

Provide support, maintain trust, and promote expertise within the team, addressing inquiries, informing supervisors, and fostering a positive work environment.

Manage human, material, and financial resources, contributing to skill development, training plans, and performance assessments.

Monitor and control operations, engaging team members in result analysis and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Ensure technical support for Rolling Stock, Depot Equipment, and related maintenance areas.

Oversee production quality and ensure safety for personnel and property.

Investigate reported or unreported damages, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain records for traceability.

Coordinate technical efforts across maintenance departments and manage site logistics.

Monitor and analyze trainset behavior and operating conditions.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.

KNOWLEDGE:

Proficiency in Rolling Stock or depot equipment maintenance and expertise in electricity, mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, and troubleshooting methods.

Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, maintenance production, team management, change management, safety regulations (OHS acts), and advanced technical concepts.

Experience with MMS such as Maximo.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in the Railway industry, with at least 5 years in Rolling Stock or depot equipment maintenance.

Experience in change management culture.
