JOB PURPOSE:
Manage the Light Maintenance workshop ensuring rolling stock availability and condition to uphold maximum operational efficiency and product quality standards.
Guarantee seamless travel for customers, prioritizing safety, reliability, comfort, and service friendliness.
Profile
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:-
• Oversee light maintenance teams within the Rolling Stock Unit, ensuring adequate skill levels and competency regarding safety, quality, and technical aspects.
• Implement maintenance protocols to optimize operational efficiency and uphold product quality and service standards.
• Attain quality and performance targets for NAT assets.
• Conduct 'make or buy' studies and monitor technical objectives for maintenance efficiency.
• Investigate failures, implement recommendations, and undertake assigned duties.
• Review annual budgets, maintenance expenses, and explain budgetary variances monthly.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, promptly alerting Executive Maintenance of issues.
• Execute maintenance plans effectively, minimizing equipment downtime and responding promptly to breakdowns.
• Uphold continuous improvement principles and conduct routine maintenance checks, contractor inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain general housekeeping standards and ensure subcontractors adhere to OHS Act policies.
• Conduct monthly safety audits and routine plant checks, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Analyze and rectify equipment defects promptly, proposing obsolescence treatment and renewal strategies as necessary.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Background in electromechanical and depot equipment.
• Proficiency in electricity, mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, and advanced technical knowledge.
• Understanding of railway safety culture, overview, testing, and commissioning, maintenance production, Lean manufacturing, safety management (OHS Acts), and CMMS such as Maximo.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the railway industry, with at least 10 years spent in rolling stock maintenance.
• Experience in change management culture and CMMS/BMS systems (Maximo preferred).
