Mission
JOB PURPOSE:
To lead, guide, and support operational staff training and development efforts, ensuring adherence to safety standards and organizational protocols. This role involves designing and delivering comprehensive training programs, assessing trainee proficiency, and addressing competency gaps to enhance operational effectiveness. Additionally, it entails mentoring trainees, maintaining accurate documentation, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization.
Profile
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
• Supervise and mentor a cohort of trainees to fulfill training objectives, encompassing scheduling, follow-ups, assessments, and instruction, while ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations and organizational protocols.
• Facilitate and develop both theoretical and practical training sessions on-site for both existing and newly hired operational staff following the designated training schedule.
• Develop comprehensive training modules and materials for all operational aspects grounded in pedagogical principles.
• Evaluate the proficiency of trainees, guiding decisions regarding their graduation from the training program.
• Provide training to all operational team members, including both managerial and mid-level staff.
• Generate detailed reports and dashboards to effectively communicate the status of training activities.
• Serve as a role model for trainees by consistently adhering to railway safety regulations and organizational guidelines.
• Conduct regular counseling sessions and disseminate updated safety information to all operational staff members.
• Conduct periodic competency assessments of operational staff to ensure safe job performance through the implementation of the Competency Management System (CMS).
• Identify training gaps and initiate corrective measures by compiling training needs gap analysis reports derived from routine examinations of operational staff.
• Create individualized training profiles based on observations and assessments utilizing relevant tools and upload post-training documentation into the document management system (Safe Tracker and Qlik sense).
• Undertake additional job-related responsibilities as required.
• Ensure the utilization of approved training materials available in the document management system, including training presentations and lesson plans.
• Guarantee compliance of all training participants with applicable Health and Safety rules and procedures, including ensuring their fitness for the activities required during training sessions.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.Sc./M.Sc. Degree in Engineering.
• Previous experience as a Duty Chief Controller or Transport Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
EXPERIENCE:
• Preferably 3 to 5 years of experience in railway operation or similar environment.
