JOB PURPOSE:
The Warehouses & Logistics Technician is responsible for managing warehouse operations, including receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing materials. They ensure inventory accuracy, compliance with safety and quality standards, and efficient order fulfillment. The role involves operating warehouse equipment, maintaining records in CMMS (Maximo), and supporting spare parts and tool management. Additionally, the technician applies the warehouse best practices, including FIFO and 5S methodology, to optimize efficiency and organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Inventory Management:
• Organize and store items in the warehouse according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in conducting regular inventory counts
Equipment Operation:
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions to supervisors.
Order Fulfilment:
• Prepare and issue material receiving report if the material accepted as being correct as per the agreed specifications or a Receiving Rejection Report for return to the supplier if rejected.
• Update Maximo with stocks received data.
• To issue materials to departments as per the schedule.
• Ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
• Label and document outgoing shipments according to company procedures.
• Pick stocks as per the received Stock Issue Request or Maximo stock request processes
• Ensure that stocks are picked based on FIFO.
Quality Control:
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality and compliance with specifications as per the purchase order placed by the procurement department.
• Report any damaged or defective items to the appropriate personnel
• To check the materials received as visual inspection for quality, quantity, specific condition, including the certificates of Certificates of Conformity and Testing certificates, etc. (if applicable).
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipments, and receipts.
• Assist in generating reports on warehouse activities and inventory levels.
• Develop and maintain and understanding of key materials description and functions to support Operations and Maintenance with goods in acceptance of materials.
Safety Compliance:
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
• Participate in safety training and contribute to the development of safety practices.
• To take the necessary actions for disposal of scraps materials as per the procedure.
Cleaning and Organization:
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring that storage areas are tidy and accessible.
• Assist in arranging products and materials to optimize space and improve workflow.
Technical Support:
• Provide technical assistance in the setup and maintenance of warehouse systems and technologies.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to inventory management systems or equipment.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding tasks and priorities.
• Apply 5S methodology in storerooms.
• Managing Spare parts and tools final take over from the customer (NAT).
• Manage the collection of tools needs calibration.
• To undertake any other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma; a bachelor's degree from a reputable university is preferred.
• Forklift driving certification and competency in operating material handling equipment.
• Training in materials handling and health & safety procedures.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
KNOWLEDGE:
• Working knowledge of CMMS (preferably Maximo) for inventory management.
• Familiarity with standard warehouse practices, including FIFO and 5S methodology.
• Understanding proper bookkeeping and inventory management principles.
• IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Awareness of safety protocols, quality control standards, and material handling best practices.
EXPERIENCE:
• At least 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management.
• Hands-on experience in receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing materials.
• Experience warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Knowledge of spare parts management and calibration processes.
