Mission
Job Purpose:
The Asset Management Engineer plays a pivotal role in enhancing maintenance operations through technology, data analysis, and asset management. This role is responsible for the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring its seamless integration and efficient operation. The CMMS Engineer will focus on the integrity of asset configuration, asset data structures, and driving continuous improvements. The position involves leadership in system upgrades, process improvements, documentation management, and training end-users, while staying updated on CMMS technologies and best practices to foster innovation and operational efficiency across the organization.

Responsibilities/Duties
CMMS System Management:
• Administer and configure the CMMS software, ensuring full functionality and alignment with company needs.
• Regularly update and maintain the CMMS database, ensuring accuracy of assets, work orders, and maintenance records.
• Lead the implementation of system upgrades and enhancements to improve functionality, user experience, and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate integration and testing of new functionalities, ensuring successful rollout and minimal disruption to operations.
Asset Management:
• Develop, maintain, and optimize asset hierarchies, structures, and configurations within the CMMS to meet organizational goals and industry standards.
• Oversee asset lifecycle management, including acquisition, maintenance, and decommissioning, to maximize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance return on investment.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity in asset data entry, validation, and standardization across the CMMS.
• Standardize asset coding, descriptions, and classifications to maintain consistency across the organization.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Analyze CMMS data to track key performance indicators (KPIs), identify maintenance trends, and uncover areas for process improvement.
• Generate and present detailed reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and associated costs to senior leadership for decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of annual maintenance budgets, cost analysis, and strategic financial planning for asset management.
User Support and Training:
• Provide expert technical support to end-users, troubleshooting and resolving system issues promptly to ensure smooth operation.
• Conduct advanced training sessions for maintenance teams and other stakeholders, focusing on how to optimize the use of the CMMS and improve productivity.
• Create and maintain user documentation and best practices to ensure effective use of the CMMS system across the organization.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for streamlining maintenance processes and reducing downtime through system automation, process optimization, and integration of new technologies.
• Lead initiatives to improve asset reliability, uptime, and operational performance, contributing to overall maintenance and safety goals.
• Stay current with industry trends, advancements in CMMS technology, and maintenance best practices to guide system improvements and maintain competitiveness.
• Champion the use of data-driven insights to recommend, develop, and implement system enhancements and operational improvements.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications in CMMS or maintenance management (e.g., CMRP, CMRT, etc.). is a plus.
Knowledge:
• Expertise in CMMS software configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in generating and interpreting complex data reports.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and process automation (e.g., macros, pivot tables, complex formulas).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional team collaboration and user support.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance strategies, failure modes, and equipment maintenance concepts.
• Familiarity with maintenance optimization methodologies, such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Maintenance, or Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a plus.
Experience:
• At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in technical roles (maintenance or engineering), with a strong focus on using and optimizing CMMS software.
• Significant experience working with IBM Maximo, SAP, COSWIN 8i, or similar CMMS platforms, with proven success in system configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• A deep understanding of maintenance management processes and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience leading system upgrades and process improvements within a CMMS environment.
• Experience with database management or IT support in a CMMS context iIs a plus.
