Mission

JOB PURPOSE: 

The Rolling Stock Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and safety of trains and depot equipment through the execution of high-standard maintenance activities. The role involves accurate fault diagnostics, timely repairs, and adherence to technical and safety standards. Technicians are also expected to support technical documentation, system reporting (Maximo), and contribute to a safety-first culture while supporting team development and continuous improvement.


Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 

Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting

Perform accurate fault diagnosis on trains and depot systems using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.

Conduct functional tests, verifications, and system resets after repairs to validate system performance.

Analyze incidents by collecting relevant data and performing root cause analysis.

Maintenance Execution

Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance tasks on rolling stock and depot equipment.

Execute dynamic adjustments, component replacements, and reassembly operations within allocated timeframes.

Ensure work quality aligns with engineering standards and operational procedures.

Traceability 

Ensure complete traceability of all performed tasks by maintaining accurate digital and physical records.

Support continuous improvement by providing feedback and documentation on recurring issues or process inefficiencies.

Quality Control & Worksite Logistics

Monitor the condition and availability of tools, spare parts, and consumables.

Ensure the workspace is organized, safe, and compliant with cleanliness standards.

Follow established work methods and standard operating procedures.

Safety

Adhere strictly to all occupational safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and safe work instructions.

Identify and report unsafe conditions or near misses immediately.

Promote a safety-first mindset within the team and participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety drills.

Comply with all company and regulatory safety guidelines and contribute to a culture of safety excellence.

Communication & Team Collaboration

Share knowledge and provide coaching to junior technicians, interns, and new team members.

Coordinate effectively with supervisors and peers to ensure smooth execution of maintenance plans.

Escalate critical issues and technical constraints to the appropriate authority in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance or a related technical field.

Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written); English proficiency is a plus.


KNOWLEDGE:

Strong foundation in electricity, mechanics, pneumatics, and electronics.

Familiarity with diagnostic procedures and technical schematics.

Competency in the use of precision tools and measurement instruments.

Knowledge of safety and quality standards in an industrial maintenance environment.


EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3-5 years in industrial or technical maintenance roles.

Railway industry experience is preferred.

Experience with asset management systems, ideally Maximo.
