JOB PURPOSE: 

The Supply Chain & Stock Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and optimizing supply chain and inventory operations to ensure the timely availability of materials, spare parts, and equipment while maintaining optimal stock levels and cost efficiency. The role supports operational continuity by enhancing demand planning, procurement coordination, inventory control, and logistics processes, while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, and performance targets. Reporting to the Supply Chain & Procurement Manager, this role bridges the gap between engineering requirements and procurement execution to maintain a lean, cost-effective, and audit-compliant stock ecosystem.


Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 

Inventory Strategy & Demand Planning

Execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to align stock availability with heavy maintenance and operational schedules.

Analyze consumption trends and historical data to lead demand forecasting activities in direct coordination with Engineering and Operations teams.

Monitor inventory health metrics to proactively minimize excess, obsolete, and slow-moving (SLOB) materials.

Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to ensure total stock record accuracy.

Procurement & Logistics Coordination

Coordinate with procurement and vendor management teams to facilitate the timely sourcing and delivery of critical spare parts and equipment.

Support technical tendering processes by providing data-driven inputs on material specifications and stock safety levels.

Evaluate supplier performance metrics, specifically focusing on delivery lead times and logistics efficiency to prevent operational bottlenecks.

Cultivate high-trust relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the supply chain remains responsive to urgent technical needs.

Stock Control & Systems Management

Manage the end-to-end requisition process within the CMMS (IBM Maximo), ensuring all stock purchase requests are technically and financially validated.

Oversee warehouse compliance regarding proper material handling, storage safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Mitigate supply chain risks by identifying potential stock-outs or overstocking scenarios through real-time data monitoring.

Collaborate with the warehouse team to audit receiving, storage, and dispatch workflows for maximum efficiency.

Digitalization & Process Excellence

Utilize ERP and CMMS platforms to maintain high-fidelity data for all inventory transactions and material movements.

Develop automated KPIs and visual dashboards to track stock turnover, service levels, and overall supply chain health.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at digitizing manual workflows and enhancing inventory visibility across the organization.

Ensure strict adherence to governance frameworks, SOPs, and quality standards during all internal and external audit cycles.

Comply with the requirements of RDMC RQHSE Policy and Safety Management System.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or related field.

Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

KNOWLEDGE: 

Advanced proficiency in IBM Maximo or a similar Tier-1 CMMS/ERP (SAP/Oracle).

Deep understanding of stock engineering principles, including Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Safety Stock calculations.

Familiarity with Health & Safety (HSE) standards and ISO quality management frameworks.

Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables) for data modeling.

EXPERIENCE: 

3-5 years of progressive experience in material planning, inventory engineering, or supply chain logistics.

Experience in transport, railway, maintenance, or heavy industry environments is an advantage.•
