JOB PURPOSE:  

Responsible for the safety, availability, and comfort of the track by ensuring the reliability of maintenance operations. 

Manage technicians and operators under his responsibility.

Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES  

Track Maintenance & Technical Oversight 

• Ensure the long-term reliability, safety, and sustainability of the LRT network’s track and workshop installations. 

• Maintain railway safety standards and ensure sustainability of installations. 

• Oversee the technical execution of corrective and cyclical maintenance activities. 

• Monitor and assess track conditions, including analyzing inspection reports. 

• Oversee the completion of maintenance projects and track inspections. 

• Ensure proper logistics and resource availability for maintenance worksites. 

• Conduct inventory checks for online stock and equipment during night shifts. 

• Ensure continuity of service across maintenance operations. 

 Team Leadership & Workforce Management 

• Manage technicians and operators under direct responsibility. 

• Plan, organize, supervise, and adjust team activities as needed. 

• Contribute to the training, coaching, and development of team members. 

• Assist in managing the transition and coordination of maintenance activities between night and day shifts. 

• Enforce safety instructions on site to ensure the wellbeing of all staff. 

Safety & Compliance 

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. 

• Promote and enforce safety culture during all maintenance activities. 

• Ensure all maintenance works are executed in alignment with safety-critical procedures. 

• Manage emergency interventions efficiently when required. 

Communication & Stakeholder Coordination 

• Facilitate effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. 

• Align work execution with the company’s strategic objectives and operational requirements. 

• Provide updates and support to the Track Manager as required. 

Planning, Reporting & Economic Management 

• Plan, organize, and oversee maintenance activities based on operational needs. 

• Monitor and manage the economic impact and cost-efficiency of maintenance operations. 

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure proper documentation.

• Complete assignments independently within established procedures and expected timelines. 

 Additional Responsibilities 

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Track Manager. 

• Maintain high professionalism, positive attitude, and strong service orientation under pressure. 

Safety Responsibilities 

• Promote a positive safety culture within the workplace and attend any safety-related meetings or briefings as required within the job role. 

• Comply with the requirements of RDMC RQHSE Policy and Safety Management System. 

• Be mindful that Safety, Security, and Environmental protection are everyone’s responsibility.  

• All staff members are accountable for reporting and intervening in any Safety, Security, or Environmental violations. 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE 

Qualifications: 

• Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. 

Knowledge: 

• Know the technology of the Metro track. 

• Know the constraints related to the operation of the lines. 

• Know Track Maintenance. 

• Know distressing process. 

• Knowing how to manage an emergency intervention. 

• Know how to read and interpret readings from measuring vehicles. 

• Know the methods of site planning. 

• Knowing how to ensure the conduct of work on operated and unoperated track. 

• Know how to use CMMS software. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. 

• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook). 

Experience: 

• 3-5 years’ relevant experience in track maintenance. 

• Experience in the change management culture.
