Mission

JOB PURPOSE: 

The Sr Centralized Control Engineer is responsible for leading the maintenance of the Centralized Control systems (ATS, SCADA, OCC subsystems). The role ensures reliability, security, and operational efficiency, while also providing mentorship to engineers and technicians. The Senior Engineer acts as the technical authority for escalated issues, driving innovation, and aligning system performance with organizational strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 

Team Coordination & Leadership

Lead engineers and technicians, provide guidance and coaching, and build team capability through structured knowledge transfer.

Supervise and coordinate the work of the team, including task prioritization, resource allocation, training, conflict resolution, and motivation.

Handle escalated technical issues, validate fault analyses, and approve corrective action plans.

Establish and maintain effective communication, ensuring clarity on decisions, solutions, and expectations.

Cultivate a trusting and collaborative team environment, addressing inquiries, mentoring team members, and ensuring alignment with operational goals.

Monitor and oversee team activities, analyzing performance results and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Technical Operations & Maintenance

Manage complex troubleshooting, validate technical analyses, approve maintenance methodologies.

Act as the main technical representative in cross-departmental coordination, resolving systemic issues across maintenance, operations, and safety.

Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

Coordinate on-site technical activities, including managing work permits and access procedures.

Investigate system failures, determine root causes, and ensure the implementation of recommendations.

Maintain and recommend upgrades and enhancements for Centralized Control subsystems.

Ensure the reliability, security, and availability of the information system.

Conduct in-depth investigations into reported and unreported damages, ensuring accurate diagnosis and resolution.

Manage system alarms, monitor anomalies, and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Oversee testing and validation of system functionality post-maintenance.

Optimize system performance and coordinate with other departments for integration and efficiency improvements.

Reporting & Compliance

Maintain comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities, failures, and corrective actions.

Ensure traceability of system updates and modifications.

Manage stock levels and spare parts inventory, implementing preventive measures to reduce downtime.

Ensure strict compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company protocols.

Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management for system enhancements and process improvements.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, conduct audits, and provide management with analytical performance reports and recommendations.

Other Responsibilities

Analyze trends and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Identify and propose technical innovations for system optimization.

Participate in system upgrades, modifications, and expansion projects.

Undertake any additional duties as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Fluent in English and Arabic, French is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE:

Expertise in low-current systems maintenance.

Strong understanding of electricity, communications, and electronics.

Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and system diagnostics.

Experience in team management and leadership.

Familiarity with safety management protocols.

EXPERIENCE:

5-7 years of relevant experience in Automation, Centralized Control, ATS & SCADA maintenance, preferably in the Railway industry.
