Mission

JOB PURPOSE

The MEP Section Head oversees the maintenance and performance of electromechanical systems within a designated metro zone. This role ensures asset reliability, manages teams and service providers, optimizes costs, and enforces safety standards. It also involves stakeholder coordination, emergency response, and continuous improvement to support operational excellence and sustainability initiatives.


Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement the overall strategy for the electromechanical team, aligning with organizational objectives.

Define and execute strategies for spare parts reordering and consumption optimization.

Performance Monitoring

Establish track performance metrics to ensure efficiency and quality in electromechanical operations.

Monitor asset performance against predefined KPIs to enhance operational efficiency.

Maintenance Activities

Oversee all maintenance activities, including routine, corrective, and repair work, ensuring optimal asset performance.

Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Formulate asset overhauling strategies based on condition assessments.

Supervise maintenance providers’ teams and audit their activities.

Manage the handover of new assets from clients and warranty contractors.

Team Leadership

Supervise maintenance service providers and warranty providers, ensuring adherence to performance KPIs.

Manage and allocate resources effectively within the maintenance team, including engineers and technicians.

Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and personnel management.

Delegate tasks within the team and ensure timely completion.

Budgeting and Cost Control

Manage the maintenance budget, optimizing costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Oversee maintenance service provider contracts and invoice governance.

Prepare RFQs and oversee bidding and tendering processes.

Oversee asset overhauls to enhance lifespan and operational performance.

Stakeholder Management

Maintain effective communication with clients regarding performance KPIs, spare parts, warranty compliance, and asset conditions.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders on asset availability and maintainability.

Identify and implement continuous improvements in the Maintenance Department.

Technical Leadership

Provide technical guidance to the team, facilitating problem-solving and knowledge-sharing.

Emergency Response

Respond promptly to service calls for malfunctioning or out-of-service assets.

Inspection and Evaluation

Conduct and oversee audits to assess maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Evaluate service provider performance against contractual agreements.

Documentation

Ensure full utilization of the CMMS system by the team and service providers.

Supervise the spare parts strategy, including consumption tracking and procurement planning.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local regulations and industry standards.

Implement safety protocols to ensure public safety and mitigate risks during maintenance activities.

Enforce adherence to RDMC rules and regulations by the maintenance team and service providers.

Training and Development

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to electromechanical maintenance.

Quality Assurance

Implement quality control measures to ensure all maintenance work meets company and industry standards.

Continuously assess and improve maintenance techniques to enhance service quality.

Undertake any other duties as assigned.

Promote a positive safety culture within the workplace and attend any safety-related meetings or briefings as required within the job role.

Comply with the requirements of RDMC RQHSE Policy and Safety Management System.

Be mindful that Safety, Security, and Environmental protection are everyone’s responsibility.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering.

A master’s degree is preferred or considered a plus.

Fluency in English and Arabic, French is a plus.
