Mission

Responsible for developing, refining, and maintaining railway safety documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational requirements. Key duties include enhancing operational documents, creating writing guidelines, formulating regulations, and overseeing document accessibility and translation. Additionally, the role involves staying updated on safety standards, conducting research, and supporting staff training. The Regulation and Documentation Engineer also provides operational support by attending tests and issuing reports. Overall, the role aims to uphold safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance through meticulous documentation management.

Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 

Develop, review, and revise all railway safety documentation based on gap and risk analysis findings.

Initiate enhancements to operational documents and procedures.

Establish writing guidelines, references, and a terminology repository for the engineering department and associated teams.

Formulate and draft regulations and operational documentation for railway operations in accordance with RATP standards, encompassing routine, degraded, and emergency scenarios (including plans, regulatory documentation, manuals, standard operating procedures, work instructions, layouts, troubleshooting procedures, and other relevant materials).

Monitor the status of all operational documents throughout the drafting, approval, and publication stages, ensuring accessibility for relevant teams.

Translate operational documents, ensuring adherence to technical terminology, organize translated content, and finalize translations in accordance with predefined standards regarding structure, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.

Ensure adherence to document control procedures, liaise with the document control department to facilitate the seamless implementation of existing and new operational documents, and oversee document management for the operations directorate in alignment with the quality management system.

Maintain all documents within the Document Management System.

Review and incorporate updates to safety standards and instructions.

Conduct research to gather legal, technical, and scientific terminology pertinent to each task.

Gather and analyze manufacturing and maintenance documents.

Develop educational resources (such as PowerApps, modules, and other digital media) to support staff training.

Create and draft drills and incident simulation test booklets.

Provide operational support as required by attending and monitoring operational tests of new extensions, trial runs, and subsequently issuing reports, in accordance with team plans and availability.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS: 

B.Sc./M.Sc. Degree in Engineering.

Previous experience as a Duty Chief Controller or Transport Supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE: 

Proficiency in the English language.

Advanced MS Office skills

EXPERIENCE: 

Preferably 2 years of experience in railway operation or similar environment.
